Creating Systemic and Sustainable Capacity for STEM Education: The Leadership Challenge

A panel of scholars and state and national policy leaders examined the challenges for preparing K-12 leaders to create systemic and sustainable capacity for excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education in University’s schools. It is widely recognized that STEM instruction reforms are key to the nation’s economic competitiveness, and school leaders are being asked to lead sustainable efforts that significantly strength STEM Education. Foremost national experts describe successful approaches for developing STEM leadership skills of principals and superintendents and discuss major initiatives and sources of support that are effectively preparing leaders for critical K-12 STEM education reforms.
